Does a override leaf affect ride height with no bed load?
Does an override (helper) leaf change the ride height at all when you are carrying zero load?
I might carry small loads on occasion with my '73, and after I did the flip kit, I put the override leaf back in because it gave me enough leaf spring pack height to bolt up the shocks without having to buy shock relocators. If you take out the override, the shock bolt interferes with the leaf spring lower plate. I plan on researching shock data for compression and extension measurements to find a suitable shock that will allow me to not have to run the cheesy looking extenders. Plus, with the amount of force the shock sees at the attach point on the rear axle, I don't like the idea of having a bolt-on extension.
