Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
Rust NEVER Sleeps 2009
The 7th Annual 1960 - 1966 Cheverolet / GMC truck, van, panel, Suburban get together, pot luck barbeque and swap meet. When: June 6th D-Day 2009 11:00 am until sun down Where: Lagoon Valley Regional Park, Vacaville Ca Just South of I-80 take the Pena Adobe exit & follow the signs This is a family friendly event bring all the kids - bring the neighbor's kids!! I'll be bringing my famous barbeque grill and enough mesquite to cook half of Texas so just bring your own meat and one side dish to share. There is a big pond, hiking & biking trails, a dog mall there's even an 18 "hole" frisbee golf course if you're so inclined! park admission is $3.00 per vehicle and if you want to enter in the truck show for a chance to win trophies in 4 catagories the entry fee is still a low, low, $15.00. Hey guys lets see how many folks we get to attend this year. Last year we only had 2 trucks. (my truck was still growing cob webs in the driveway) John a.k.a. ChiefRocka came from SJ in his sweet little '63 old school "banger", Big-wave Dave came crusin' in from Modesto with his newest addition: a big ol' orange '63 with a '61 grill. My buddy Dennis came by in his little hot rod Chevy (disguised as a Ford roadster) And "Frisco Johnny" showed up with his boy to support the event even though his truck was still in pieces. I know we can do this - we've had up to 22 entries in years past - so let's beat the bushes and gather up the support! If you know somebody with a 60-66 Chevy truck in your area, and I know you do, get him or her to come! I'm calling on all the old schoolers and the newbies from Santa Rosa to Grass Valley from Modesto to San Jose and everywhere in between Come on down and let's show off our projects and talk some smack!!! I don't care if your rig is still held together with duct tape & bailin' wire (like mine) - there's a prize for that too. Bring your spare parts and your back issues of Custom Classic Truck magazine make a few bucks find a good deal, meet some new people and have a burger or a dog. I guarantee you you'll want to come back next year.
