Well, I picked up this 1988 crew cab 4x4 Diesel today. It has 80k original miles, it is straight from the farm, and used to haul stock. It is a California truck, and has no rot on it. I am fairly new to the Chevy world, I dabble in American trucks and cars only though. Anyway, I snapped it up when I saw it because I never see single rear wheel crew cabs, and don't think I have ever seen a crew cab 4x4 diesel. I have seen plenty of gas trucks, but no oil burners. Does anyone have any idea how many CC diesel 4x4's were produced? Couldn't be that many I would surmise with the amount I see out there. I have a 69' C10 I inherited recently, and now I have this K30. To be honest, of all the Chevy's out there, this is the body style that does it for me. I don't like the newer or previous body styles that much. I guess all I really want to know is, is this a rare truck being a CC diesel 4x4 or am I imagining it? I only ask because I never see them.
I am kind of leaning towards doing a stock looking light resto/fluff job on it. The wife won't drive it as is, so it going to need to look a bit nicer to stay in my stable of cars, and trucks. Any suggestions as to a paint scheme would be nice. What do you think about doing a two tone type paint job so I can retain the beige interior paint? Or, do you think I should keep it the stock color? It isn't the best color, but I can't bring myself to paint it red, or something like that, and still have the stock interior color. It would just look bad to me to open the door, and see that tan inside. So, would two tone with a brown look good, or something else? Let me know what you think, thanks.
