Reinforcing stock trailing arms

I bought CPP trailing arm reinforcement kit for '63 (weld on plates)
but got absolutely no guidance/instructions on the welding.

When I called, the kid said "don't the u bolts just hold them in place?"
Your kidding me. This is customer support?

Who out there has installed these? do you stitch weld? a short bead every few inches? how much weld is enough?
