Question Pitman arm

Hi all,

we have just aquired another cool 72 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4, and I have a question. The truck has about a 6" lift, but the pitman arm looks like a stock peice. The drag link slopes down at a pretty good angle from the steering box to the steering arm on the knuckle. The truck does not turn very sharp either left or right, and I think the pitman arm is the problem. Is the drag link supposed to be level between the pitman arm and the steering arm? Do I just need to install a dropped pitman arm?

Thanks!
Colby.
