My '65 sbss Project
I picked this truck up a few weeks ago and will be starting the restoration fairly soon. The first projects will involve the drivetrain and suspension. The truck currently has a 283/TH350 combo in it. I plan on swapping that out for a 350/700R4 combo. It also has a 3"/3" coil spring drop on it that I plan on swapping out for a 2.5" spindle/5" coil drop. It already has sway bars front and rear but I will be installing a 73-87 disc front end. It already has power steering but I will be installing power brakes at the same time that I do the front end swap.
It needs the typical patch panels including cab corners, rockers, inner cowls, bottom door corners, front fender bottoms. I also plan on shaving the drip rails and rounding the top corners of the doors. I plan on installing an aluminum fuel cell that I have under the bed along with a ZR1 fiberglass rollpan. I have autometer gauges to install in a Boese engineering dash insert. I have a late model truck bench seat to make the interior more comfortable along with a tilt steering column. I also have kits to shave the door handles and to make the windows power. I am sure this will be a lengthy project but I intend drive the truck as much as possible throughout. Anyways here are a couple pictures and I will update this thread as progress is made. |
