Getting a 1 ton on the ground *questions*

A buddy just got an 85 Chevy crew cab dually. He wants to get this on the ground. I have done many 1/2 ton truck but I am not very familiar with these 1 ton frames. My question(s) is, what do I need to do to get this to lay body? How big of a "Z" would I need and would I be able to just hack off the bottom of the frame?
Thanks guys and any help would be great...
