Cam Woes Revisited
Well for those of you that read my last thread about the problems that I was having with my new cam here is what happened. First, I should rename this to "Dumb @$$ Installs Cam". Instead of lining cam gear dimple to the "o" dimple on the crank gear, I lined it up with the "0" which indicates that the crank gear is installed "straight up" on the crank (versus advanced or retarded). So essentially my crank to valvetrain timing was a tad off. My fear now is that all that valvetrain noise that I was hearing was my valves kissing the pistons. Anyway, I will see how things go tomorrow. Moral of the story: No matter how many times you do these things, you have to check and recheck every single time!
