Smile Driveshaft question

Have replaced factory Powerglide out of my 1966 1/2 ton with a newer model powerglide. The shaft on the new transmission is fine splined and longer the the original with less splines . would there be a correct length drive shaft to switch with my original to fit? Maybe soneone who has done this before will have a answer for me . second thought this is a 2 piece driveshaft and would like to stay with 2 piece design
