Kind of new to the forum, 1968 Chevy C10 Stepside

Hows it going guys? Anyways I picked up my Stepside from my grand father 3 months before he passed when I was 16 (21 now), I was going to sell it due to school but didn't have any luck with the sale. So means I fell into majoring in Automotive tech (F yea!) I think I'm going to restart the project.

Specs:
1968 Chevy C10 Shortbed Stepside
250 Straight Six
Three on the tree
Firetruck red

How she started:

Previous owner cut the springs to lower it , they were so shot i couldn't get a wrench in there to take them off, had to torch them (rear).

Thats how it sits now because I haven't got to the front yet. Started in the back doing what I could with the knowledge i had then (16 years old). Redid the brakes (Brand new shoes, drums, and hardware). One thing i'm impressed about that i wasn't then, i got that bed off by myself using a strong beam and a rope or two, WTF can you say beast! and then on again by myself.

This is the 250 that came with it, when I bought it (not factory) i think we determined it was out of a 78 if i remember right. As you can see i think someone threw on a ford fuel filter (fender well). . Replaced that.

Thats pretty much all I did because i was in highschool and had a really short budget.

What needs to be done:
Cab, the rust is narly (will post pics soon)
Front suspension
Change to a different differential gear set, somewhere around the 4.10 area, so i cant drive on the freeway)
Would like to swap to a 350. (572 dream but thats way down the way)

Other odds and ends but the cab is my main focus

So I'm from Seattle WA so any forum members around here i would love to meet. So far this forum has tons of info and some questions like WTF was this person thinking (is it possible to swap 4.3 vortec heads to a 350) I'm sorry but thats ridiculous. What was this person thinking. LMFAO i wouldn't have asked that even when i was 16.

So my plan is to just buy rockers, corners, floor pans, kick panels and just weld them in. I have know clue how but thats why i came here.

Anyways my names Thomas, Nice to meet ya'll
