Dads '71 Custom Camper

Hello to you all from the new guy in WA state. As with most people that post here for the first time, I too have a project that I wanted to share you everyone. This is my dads 1971 Custom Camper that he bought brand new off the lot. It's a C20 longbed with the original 350 in it. The paint is not original because my dad painted it himself after a power line fell across the truck and fried (melted) a line front to back. Obviously painting is not his specialty. Besides the rims, the only other part that is not original is the seat because he didn't want the bench anymore and put in some buckets from a minivan.

Well, my dad has retired and doesn't have the time or space to fix the truck so he is going to give it to me as a gift since I'm the oldest son and because he bought the truck just two years after I was born. My plans for the truck are to put a new bench seat back in and upgrade the interior with carpeting, relocated the fuel tank to the rear between the bed rails, fix the cancer around the rocker panels, paint the truck the original forest green, lower it, put an air ride suspension in, put 17's on with lower profile tires, put chrome bumpers on and rhino line the bed.

I have been searching these forums for a while before I joined and I have got to say that I am quite impressed with the trucks that are out there. I am hoping to learn a lot from the rest of you and incorporate some of the creative thinking that has gone into your vehicles. If anyone has suggestions on how I should go about doing this or what order this should be done, please let me know as this is my first personal truck rebuild.

Thanks.
