Question do I don't I

I have a 1965 stepside,i am debating on on a stock height or a little lower.I have 1973 or something front and rear end. i am using stock trailing arms,If i go stock, would it be wise to buy new coil springs. Will the extra weight of V8 matter. thanks for thoughts
