this is a great thread. my build is a 54 GMC and I am using an extended cab 1993 silverado chassis. instead of measuring from outer wheel toouter wheel i measured from backing plate to backing plate. the rear was 1 inch wider and the front is 2 inches wider.
with an offset wheel at 4 inches i am at the fender edge. the late model chassis has its problems, i am reworking the fender openings to center the wheels because the steering box needs an 1 1/2 more inches then stock. but ride height is 2 inches lower then stock without flipping the rear axle. if i flip the axle i'll drop the rear 5 inches.
