Gas Leaking in Cab!
I got in my truck and smelled a lot of gas... I looked behind the seat and the little whatchamacallit-thingamajig (technical terminology) at the top of the tank where the fuel comes out was leaking gas. I'll post a pic later of the exact location where it's leaking, but basically it's coming from under all of the stuff that's attached to the tank itself, from between the tank and the rest of the hardware if that makes sense.
It stopped leaking liquid after the fuel level went down a little (I had just filled up) but it continues to leak vapors constantly. This is making me pretty nervous. I don't know if I ought to try to patch the gap, maybe with some kind of chemical sealer, or replace the tank or parts of the tank, or even move the tank to the rear of the truck since I have no spare tire. I'm not sure if the hardware can be tightened any more than it is, but it seems really tight. Do you guys have the tank behind the seat or under the bed more often? Is changing it an expensive or difficult project? Do you think I'm gonna blow myself up driving it around like this.. or just get high? Heh. |
