another vancouver island guy!!!!!

Hi All,
I'm in Victoria BC and just bought a 55 GMC step side on Sunday which is in fairly good, (mostly rust free) original condition.....short of no eng/ trans. The overall plan I have is to keep as much as possible original and lay in a modern power plant. The good thing is I already have a 350 with a th400 to drop in so I plan on a short build before I tear it down again. I already did a 4 wheel disc brake conversion on it and had some long nights just looking at it trying to figure out which direction I want to go with it... too many possibilities to consider in the 5 days I've owned it!
I've been scouting the board for a while now and I'm glad to see that there is some very experienced people giving out good advice. I've been working on cars/ trucks for over 25yrs but since this is the oldest truck I've ever owned I'm sure I'll need some tech advice at some point.
Once again Hi to everyone
