Opinions on sneaker plugs/lake plugs

I could again use some opinions. In my never ending quest to spend money I don’t have on stuff I don’t need I’ve come up with yet another idea. Since I can’t afford fenderwell headers, I’ve been thinking about adding a pair of functional sneaker plugs behind the front tires.

My photoshop skills are pretty pathetic so the picture below is the best rendition I could create to show the concept. The pipe would actually run straight out from the headpipe, but I don’t have the ability to make it look that way. The cap may end up a bit lower, further under the fender, or below the bottom of the fender. The pipe and cap would either be aluminized steel like the exhaust pipes, or polished stainless.

So what do you think – just right, one too many doodads, stupidest thing you’ve ever heard, or??? All opinions welcome, and thanks for the feedback.
