Steering Colum Help

Hey,
I was just given a 84 tilt steering column from my cousin. I want to put it in my 77 that has the wiper switch on the dash. I would just like to take out the wiper/turn signal switch off the 84 tilt and just put in a regular lever for the turn signal....what modifications will I need to do? There seems like a whole lot of wires on the 84 that I don't know what their functions are and I don't know if it will fit the 77. So my question is....will it fit, can I take off the wiper/turn signal and just put in a turn signal, and will I have to run a whole lot of wires around?

Thanks
