1960 Inside panel removal - HELP !

Hi my favorite truck Gurus,

I am moving along on my 60 GMC Suburban. I tried to remove the inside front door area panels shown below. They seem to be "glued?" anybody ever removed these ? Is it better to sand and paint them in place ?

Thanks in advance for the forthcoming great advice.
