Idle Stop Circuit Question.

I'm redoing some of the wiring under the hood of my '72 short step. More specifically, I'm eliminating some of the circuits that I do not need after swapping engines. I want to re-use the idle stop solenoid circuit (12ga pink wire) and connect it to the electric choke on my Edelbrok 1406...can anyone tell me if that circuit is "key on" only? I would test it, but currently have no battery. Thanks in advance.
