oh man that sucks so bad. sorry to hear that. My 88 mustang gt did that to me once. I was doing a burnout, the waterpump shaft broke and sent the fan threw the radiator. Next day I bought a new aftermarket radiator and a used ford tarus electric fan from the junk yard.. Felt like i gained 20hp and sounded so much better then that noisy clutch fan. BTW I checked the gmc tailgate i have and the aluminum strip is not even there.
