Parked for 11 Years and Fired Up two days ago!!!

Hi guys im new to the forum as of a couple days ago. I have been combing the site looking for info and decided i would sign up and participate. I have this 1972 C/20 custom with the 350 and factory air. I learned to drive with this truck and told my dad that if he ever sold it I would kill him. I join the army shortly after high school and he had not giving or sold me the truck yet but Im out of the army now and when i got back I pulled it out of storage(aka field) and it sat for another two years in my driveway. Well I want to do a full custom restore on it but for right now i need it for function. It fired up with just a battery after 11 years but u should have cleaned the tank out first I got a little excited. Anyway I started having fuel delivery problems under load so i took apart the Quadrajet and it was surprisingly clean other than the filter, that didn't fix it so i moved on the the mechanical fuel pump since it was cheap that's done but also no luck so i pulled the sending unit out and the sock look like a rust Popsicle and the float is gone. I'm in Colorado and i look forward to being part of the community.
