need help

so i finally got the big block running in my truck a few months ago. the engine ran pretty good but didnt have an exhaust on it, it was open headers so i couldnt hear anything.i finally got around to putting the exhaust and now i can hear that is making noise on top like a loose rocker.i talked to the machinist that did the work and he said it had to be a loose rocker arm. i tried adjusting the valves i dont know how many times and it still made noise.i took it back to him and he tried adjusting the valves several times and it still made noise.he said it sounded like on of the lifters wasnt pumping up so he told me to drive the truck back to my house and see if it would quiet down.well it didnt quiet down at all and he told me is possible that rocker arms are the ones making noise.i have the comp cams magnum roller tip rockers brand new, and he said the next thing would be to try on a good set of roller rockers.i dont know if this will actually fix my problem or not any ideas on what to check or what to do im really frustrated at this point and dont know what else to do.
