5 x 4 3/4 Wheels on a '72 C10?

I want to run a set of 5 x 4/3" Camaro Z-28 steel wheels on my '72 C10 with factory 5 x 5" wheel and Power disc/drum brakes. I have read threads where some recommended re-drilling the front discs for the car pattern. Would the same apply for the rear axles (and drums)? I have a concern of weaking the parts by this method. Has anyone done a conversion using GM or aftermarket parts to change out the bolt pattern? Thanks in advance. bg
