Rear Brake Lines??

So one day me and my dad where messing around with our trucks on some open roads. Something came out of exhaust and put a pin hole in the brake hose. So i figures ah no biggie just a hose and back on the road. Well i found out that when my dad and grandpa first pieced the truck together they had a love for vise grips. So the lines would not come off the hose so i had to take the lines off from the Wheel cylinders. During the cpp show and cruise i went the the truck and car shop in organe and bought a new hose and both rear stainless brake lines. But they dont fit the hose fits fine but the lines are to short. Anyone run into this problem will post pictures tomorrow. The truck is a 68 with a 72 Rear end. Brake hose and lines were purchased for a 72.
