New from Seattle, WA - 66 C10 Stepside Longbox

Hey guys, wanted to introduce myself. I bought a 66 C10 stepside Longbox for $700 a few weeks ago and am starting work on it.

I'm not well versed with Chevy trucks (or large gasoline engines in general), so this will be a learning experience for me. Most of my experience is with Cummins diesels and the 80s Mercedes Diesel cars (OM617). I also have owned Harley Shovelheads through the years, so I am no stranger to turning wrenches.

Not sure how the whole project will run yet, but I am focusing on cutting out the rockers and floors for now to get ahead of any progressing rust. I have rusted inner and outer rockers, some small spots on the floorboards, the door bottoms, and the obligatory rear tip of the front fenders. All in all, not too bad I think. The rest of the truck is pretty solid with some surface rust only.

After I get my rust issues taken care of, I will paint the cab up pretty nice, put a nice interior in and then see where I go from there. Eventually I would like it to be really nice, but it will be a while before I fully get there.
