Cool Starter issues

I have a SBC 350 with a OE style Auto Zone Starter. I have installed a Quick Wire Harness in my 66. The problem is that every time I turn the engine off, if I do not go pass the first click(accessory) and go straight to the off position. The starter tries to engage the flywheel and it makes an awe full loud grinding noise. I have checked my wires at the switch, the Starter and they are like there suppose to be. I have changed out starters, made sure the shims are correct and it still does it. I am feeling like it's back-feed from the starter to the switch. But what do you all think??? I need help......

Thanks,

Keith
