What makes a gas can in the bed so different than a gas tank filler neck?
I'm just asking the question, I'm not being critical of anyones choices.

Rub a plastic fuel container with your hand or arm and you will see why this is a serious issue. This is more prevalent in a dry, non humid condition, the static generated from the plastic fuel container is unreal. I've seen this with drop-in plastic bed liners too.
