68 SWB same as 71 SWB?

I went to look at 68 chevy truck this weekend, only for the bed. The owner told me he thought the 68 SWB had different curves and would not line up with the 71 cab...is this correct?

In any case, I did not buy..he wanted 1K for truck, it was beat up base model with 6 cyl, not run in 20 years, and broken back window for 10 of those years, bed had foot of oak leaves in it. I did not feel it was worth 1K...He was unwilling to consider less...
