doing manual swap

Ok i plan on swaping in a manual 4 speed instead of a 700R4. I think I have most everything I need for it now except the pedal assembly. I have a few questions for the knowlegable here...

1...Do I need the assemebly from a manual truck or can I use the one from like an older camaro?

2...I dyno out at right around 280hp/300TQ at he wheel. Will my 4 speed saginaw take that? Running 373 gears. It is built mostly for street use alittle track time here and there.

Thank you
