Got a 5.3 now the tranny....
Picked up a 2006 5.3 today , reasonable mileage with a harness. No computer
 Trying to figure out what to do for a transmission. Its going in my 1990 2wd crew cab. I have been given a 1989 GMC 1/2 ton with a 700r4. Should I use this one or look for a 406le, I plan to modify the factory harness, any suggestions? I'm having trouble finding a 406le in this neck of the woods that is not a 4wd. Thanks for any input.
