This is why I hate previous owner modifications...(pic)
Well, my rear tires on the 68 are toasted, so I decided I was going to pull them off tonight, put the truck on jackstands, and get new ones put on tomorrow....
Since my hydraulic jack is out of commission, I decided to use a standard bumper jack (I think it may have come out of my 77 monte carlo). As most of you know, 67-72's came with a bottle jack from the factory, but mine is long gone. So I placed the bumper jack under the rear bumper in the nice little cutout notch that's already there. Lo and behold, it worked...or so I thought. I got the RR tire almost off the ground, and the truck shifted....I jumped back, and the lovely PMO (previous moron owner) homemade bumper bracket bent! ![]() ![]() D'oh!
