16x6.5

I know this is probably a stupid questions, but I have a set of 16x6.5 rims off a 98 3500. I've had them for some time now, I think they fit my 84 3/4 ton, but my stupid question is will 315/75/16's fit on them or is 6.5 too small for 315's?

I found some winter rated tires in 315/75/16's Yokohama's, and would like to get that size, but if the rims don't work, I'll likely look for some 285's.

Whats the narrowest rim I could go?
