Brake Light Fuse Keeps Blowing

I've got a 1977 Chevy C-10 without cruise. My brake light fuse keeps blowing as soon as I push the brake pedal down. I've checked the wiring in the dash and it all looks good. Seems to me that if the problem was in the chassis wiring I wouldn't have turn signals and/or parking lights, but I still have those. Could it possibly be something wrong in the turn signal switch?? I checked the brake light switch and it's fine. Doesn't the problem have to be between the brake light switch and the point where the brake lights and turn signals are combined??
