I would find a rearend shop or race car fabricator in your area to weld on the housing ends...it requires a jig/alignment fixture. I've had this one for many years: http://markwilliams.com/detail.aspx?ID=163
Make sure you select the tire and wheel combination first and take your measurements with them mocked up at ride height. In additon to chassis and rearend housing centerline, be sure to take into account the stand off of the axle flange and type of brakes you plan to run. If I go to the extent of narrowing a housing, I typically go with aftermarket axles.
