Oh yeh, these will polish up great! I do mine once or twice a year. Because these are old mags, they aren't like the new ones with the clear coat on them. These are ready to polish as is!
Some Mothers or Blue Magic on a small buffer attached to a hand drill, and they shine up nicely. BTW, I chose to paint the inner cutouts body color and even painted the brake drum blue. Here's a pic showing that:
