700r4 to 400 conversion?

anybody done this? my tranny went out a few days ago so i think i'm gonna switch to a th400 for my 4x4 instead of rebuilding the 700r4... checked around(not locally!) and found the cheapest to be around 1200 dollars (TCI from summit)... my question is what else do i need to do this besides the tranny itself... summit says it is a direct replacement but what about throttle brackets and any other misc. stuff? do i need to change crossmembers? will everything just bolt right up?

checked at advance auto for same thing and they have a conversion kit that goes with it... what is that all about?

i need to do this asap without ANY surprises, unless they are good ones!
