56' one Ton/new toy

Hey guys, i'm new to the site...well i have spent many nights reading stuff on here but i'm new to owning one of these trucks and having a screen name.

but as of just the other day i'm the proud owner of a 56' 3800. i been looking for a heavy truck to help us out around our little farm, and when i ran across this it was just way too cool to pass up.

I think what sold me on it was the fact that i could drive it home, it's got a bit of rot in the passenger side cab corner and the doors have began to seperate on the bottoms just a bit, but overall i still say it's a very solid old truck, and fun as can be to drive around in!

the guy i got it from swapped out the cab a few years back with one off a two ton fuel truck, (59) i think. and he also took the 261 straight six out of that truck and swapped it in this one. now i don't know much about these six's but i've heard it's supposed to be a good motor? either way i'm liking it.

plans as of right now are to start clearing up all the rattles and squeeks, the doors need new rubbers so they'll stop making a lot of racket driving around and stuff like that. main goals are to drive it, use it, and make her as functional as i can. while heading back in the original looking direction as i can, doing stuff along the way.

i'm sure the questions will start coming as i seek advice from guys who have done this a lot longer than me, so thanks in advance everybody!!
