Removing Heater

Im planning to remove the complete heater assembly from my 72 truck to install aftermarket A/C .Any tips to make it easier without damaging all the parts as they may be useful to someone else .The cab is off the frame and sitting on a dolly w/the doors off as well so access is not a problem. What all should be removed under the dash ?
