Sound like you have had bad experiences with warped flanges and headers.

Over tightening will cause blown gaskets. Bolts coming loose cause blown gaskets and making the header too tight causes a warped flange

A header lock washer kit and gaskets called REMFLEX fix the issues very nicely. Been running my paper thin flanged headmans for two years like this. Have had no issues so far

Look into REMFLEX gaskets they are nice
