Go here: speedometer world they have a chart to help you figure out what speedometer gear combo in the transmission you need based on your tire size & rear axle ratio. The odometer part is pretty well fixed in the speedometer head, 1000 revolutions of the speedometer cable is 1 mile. The actual indicated speed is adjustable for calibration purposes, but doing any adjusting will be worthless if the odometer is off.
