Steering box clearence issue on nova clipped 56

So the guy I had clip my truck years ago (like 16+) with a 77 nova and didnt adjust the wheelbase. Now Im finally back working on the truck after 2 (yes 2) ex wifes.....lol Anyways I had to move the cab mounts back 1 1/2 inches to properly place the front wheels in the fender. Ill be back halfing the frame and can take care of the rear wheelbase then. So my problem is now the steering box is in the way of building core support mounts. I had the guy step notch the frame 3 1/2 inches to lower the truck without using lowering parts. Anyone else have this problem and what did you come up with? My thoughts are to change the core support mount location? This may help when i put the 95 camaro radiator, fans, and condensor in. So any input would be great!!

ps. ill get pics up shortly......
