Fusible link on 85 gmc

I was just installing a new battery in my bran new 1985 GMC 4x4 and i screwed in the ground cable first into the new battery of course, but apparently not far enough because as i attached the hot lead back on the new battery i heard a pop and then saw some electrical wire smoke and of course now turning the key to start does nothing...i am sure it blew a fusible link or inline fuse somewhere but i'm an old man and my eyes aren't too good and i can't see where the blown fuse is hiding...can any of you smart young guys give me some direction, i would be forever grateful!...thanks
