nuetral safety/clutch safety switch help?
I put my new steering column in my 86 today. Its for a manual. Truck was previously an auto. Problem is I dont know what to do about my nuetral safety now. The only wire on the plastic switch on the bottom of the steering column was a blue/green one for reverse lights I believe. When I looked at my 76 auto there's a pair of heavy gauge purple wire for nuetral safety on the same switch. When I looked at my 88 3500 manual there's a heavy yellow and heavy purple that go to the clutch pedal nuetral safety switch. When I located the heavy purple in my 86 harness they go to some kind of resistor. On top of the steering column with a hand full of other wires. Now if that was only on the auto column I'd say no brainer, just relocate it. However the manual column had the same set up. I don't have a battery hooked up or starter installed since this is in the process of a t56 swap. Do I need to splice the purple wire and send to a neutral safety or do I remove the pins from the resistor they go to now and relocate to. A nuetral safety? Thanks for what ever help I can get!
