Introduction...
I've been posting here for a couple of weeks now & thought I'd better introduce myself.
My name is Ripley and I'm from Salem, Oregon. 2 weeks ago I bought my truck from an aquaintance from the local car/autocross club. It's a 2-owner, father and son truck. I'm the 3rd owner. Looks just like the '76 C10 posted yesterday from North Dakota asking how much it was worth. Specs: 1977 Silverado C20 longbed, wood bed, 454 BB, TH400 Trans, oil and tranny coolers, AC, Power Windows, Cruise, Tilt, Tach, HD Brakes 16" slotted mag wheels, 31.5" Schwab Wild Country tires. Chrome bumpers front and rear w/receiver hitch. Set up for trailer brakes. I've been looking for a good, affordable truck for about a year now and had been focusing on '71 - '72 models, but this one came along at the right time and the right price. The truck has a few minor issues I have been working on such as the headliner, fixing the linkage in the DS door, cleaning, fixing the rusted battery tray, changing the oil (7 quarts, wow!) and air filter and misc. bulbs that were burnt out. My kids and I spent a good 2 days with cleaner wax bringing the paint back to life. This is my first V8, so it's a learning experience for me. All my other cars are/have been either I4, I6, or V6. The only major issue is getting the brake pedal to return on it's own. Currently I have to pull it back up with my toe to get the brakes to release. It's either the master cylinder, or the booster from what I've been able to figure out. Had the system checked at Les Schwab last weekend, and they said everything looked great as far as the rest of the system is concerned. Anyway, that's me and thanks for all the help so far! Hopefully I'll have something to contribute soon.
