When installing a u joint do you remove the tranni yoke?

I was wondering if you guys remove the trani yoke when installing the front u joint. If so should I just jack up the rearend so I don't lose any transmission fluid when I pull the yoke out?

Also, how tight is the new u joint suppose to be? My u joint was pretty loose at first when I started the caps but by the time I snuggled the caps down to where the clips would fit on the inside groove the u joint seemed extremely tight.

Any help would be great. Thanks!
