exhuast ?

i was curious on what gains i would get if i put an x pipe in my truck its a 1973 k20 with a built 406 sbc and roughly 500hp but to be safe ill say 475 my truck had 2inch duals on it which are WAY too small and the preformance suffers greatly from it i am putting 3 inch duals on it with no mufflers and was just wondering if i should put an x pipe or some kind of equalizer pipe connecting the two pipes? will i gain anything by doing this?
