Hacked up Starter Replacement Suggestions

My C10 came without a fly wheel cover, but not a big deal since they're inexpensive. I went under the truck today and found out why there isn't a cover, the starter protrudes into the fly wheel. This just can't be good, it probably has at least a quart of oil in it from my persistent oil leak. So what to do next?

The truck is a '64 C10, the motor is a '73 250 L6, the transmission is a TH350 automatic (it replaced the manual trans per the PO). What replacement starter would you recommend or would it be easier to take it out, go to the local parts store, and compare it to what they have in stock? Thanks.
