vent window seal question

I was getting ready to put mine back together, but I think I may have the wrong part. I removed the vent window I am using from a 1989 Suburban. It is the 2 piece type with the tabs.

I've never seen this on an '89 before. Very unusual, but nothing surprises me on these two piece designs anymore.

Some people do make them work, whether they are using a lot of weatherstrip adhesive or urethane...I'm not sure. The bottom line is that most people encounter problems, wind noise, leakage etc. Get the correct ones. Your truck, time & sanity are worth it!
