'58 king pin thrust bearing assembly
I've seen the instructions provided by speedway motors on another post, and it doesn't mention anything about a metal washer between the two brass thrust washers. It reads to me that the two brass faces face each other.
http://static.speedwaymotors.com/pdf/910-32130.pdf But the repair manual mentions the metal washer and a build featured in Classic Trucks mag showed it that way. Reason I ask is because when I went to rebuild my spindles on my 58 3200, the fit was WAY tight with the metal washer between the two brass washers. Looking at the old ones that I removed, there was nothing between the brass thrust bearing. Short question long, do I need that metal washer?
