X2 on vent system. I got strong gas smell at cab because I have an 83 BB C20 which had no evaporative canister system - just short lengths of hose at the sending units at the tanks with a one way valve (same as differential vent). I added long fuel line hoses at the vent nipples at the sending units and terminated them at the rear of the truck - just above the spare tire. Now it stinks when you walk to the back of the truck - but no more smell in the cab.
